Speaking of time and wake-up calls lately…nothing awakens the heart quite like the first signs of spring. It’s the perfect cure for the winter-weary soul…the season that has a way of brightening our outlook on… just about everything. A time for flinging off layers. When toes come out of hiding…along with foot scrubs, callus softeners, and pumice stones.

If you happen to live in Denver, of course, you know this is just a sneak peek. Winter’s not over yet, but that’s ok…we’ll take whatever we can get in the meantime.

In fact, the minute I heard highs in the 70s predicted for today, I unearthed last summer’s nail polish for a make-shift mini pedi. No time for the pampering kind… This was abbreviated and strictly functional. So abbreviated, in fact, that only four “little piggies” got to say, “Wee! Wee! Wee!” all the way to work today…the two on each foot that would be peeking out from my opened-toe sling-backs. The rest just have to wait.

In the meantime, thank goodness for the lovely little ballet flat. The perfect cure for springtime in the the Rockies when we’re never quite sure what our fickle weather might do next. Such functional footwear for pale, unpolished digits awaiting their turn in the sun…or an appointment at the spa for a real pedi-cure.

‘Cause who has time to wait? March is only half over and could still dump a record snow on us. Time’s a ticking, so get out there and enjoy the sneak peek for all it’s worth. And don’t forget to change your clocks this weekend.

Longer days are here again!

“Wee! Wee! Wee!”
