I lost a family member last week.

She was in my life for 33 years…and I never truly appreciated who she was until after she died. Never completely embraced her as family until it was too late.

It was a complicated relationship…but maybe it didn’t have to be. Now I’m left to ponder how simple it might have been, and to grieve the missed opportunity and blessing of knowing and enjoying an amazing woman.

It’s a hard-won, late-learned lesson. I’m sobered and forever changed by it, and can only hope that you will ponder what God wants to teach you about the relationships in your life. About living and dying, loving and forgiving.

Before it’s too late…

Love Julie
