Week One: dig a giant hole.
That was the extent of my not-so-intimate knowledge of excavation prior to beginning this phase. In all actuality, it’s a very calculated process and takes skill and precision to do the job right. Our excavation phase will take about two weeks and is being led by Columbia Earthworks, Inc. and our dear friend, David Sandy. You might remember David from the big project to remove the barn. He is wonderful on site, a master at his craft, and we’re blessed to work with him.
And this is what a 6:30am site walk looks like. Not a bad way to start the day 😉
