Veteran Homeless Outreach Van Matching Fund
UnbridledACTS is hosting a Matching Fund to support the Veteran Community Project of Longmont as they expand their Veteran homeless outreach capabilities. We will match $1 for $1 up to $30,000 for a total goal of $60,000. This match will run through the end of July 2022:
Veterans Community Project (VCP) is dedicated to supporting every man and woman who took the oath for our country. They are determined to make a difference in the lives of homeless Veterans, a task accomplished by the community for the community. VCP of Longmont is launching a new program that will reach Veterans in Northern Colorado who may not already have access to services. Through the new Veteran Homeless Outreach Team (V-HOT), rural Veterans who may not have reliable transportation, will be able to meet with VCP Case Managers on a regular basis to work on permanent housing readiness or get connected with local, community services.
A driver and VCP Case Manager will travel in an ADA accessible van to rural areas of Northern Colorado to work with partner organizations in reaching Veterans who have limited access to services, have been hesitant to engage, or need assistance in getting their basic needs met.
The V-HOT program will allow VCP to provide Veterans with hygiene kits, snack packs, housing need assessments and assistance, and clothing/seasonal gear. To assist, we have set up a dollar-for-dollar match (up to $30,000) where 100% of donations will go to VCP-Longmont to help fund the outfitting of their service van and provide the staffing for rural Veterans in need. The hope is to connect Veterans with the services they need to improve their overall wellness, moving them into sustainability for a flourishing future.
These startup funds are critical to launch the V-HOT program this summer to create an even larger impact on Veterans in Northern Colorado.
