BuRUNdi Marathon Match
UnbridledACTS is hosting a Matching Fund for Pajoma Foundation, in partnership with Olivia McGraw. We will match $1 for $1 up to $5,000 for a total goal of $10,000. The match will run through September 2026:Â
On October 4th, Olivia McGraw is running in the Portland Marathon. Some big races often offer charity packages where runners receive some fun swag for raising money for a big-name charity. That’s not the case here. It’s just Olivia, setting out on the trail, and attempting to remind everyone that there is hard, beautiful, important work still happening every day with a people and a place that remains unseen. The goal is $26,200, or $1,000 for each mile. Â
Despite departing Burundi in 2012, Burundi never left Olivia’s heart. You may not hear about the country in the news, and you don’t hear Olivia talk about it often, but it’s still there, and she still cares deeply and remains very invovled. The land and people are still surviving, never thriving, and Burundians continue to find a way forward despite all odds betting against them. Â
One of those hidden partners in the hidden places is Pamoja Foundation. They offer development work, school supplies, life skills, and hope to Burundi’s poorest. After talking with GLO, Great Lakes Outreach, about raising money for them, Olivia learned that they recently lost over $5,000 worth of school supplies in a fire. The founder, and an old friend, has miraculously survived a horrific car accident, the needs of the poor and the organization are significant. But every dollar matters.Â
The goal is to come alongside one of the poorest countries in the world to provide life-changed resources. Â
To support, we have set up this dollar-for-dollar match (up to $5,000) where 100% of donations will help Olivia McGraw raise the first $10,000 of her $26,200 goal to support Burundians in their time of need. Together, we can make a difference for those who are often forgotten.Â
