Frontotemporal Degeneration Match
UnbridledACTS is hosting a Matching Fund for The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) on behalf of Lisa Campbell Bailey after the passing of her husband, David, to the disease. We will match $1 for $1 up to $2,500 for a total goal of $5,000. The match will run through December 4, 2024:
On October 25, a close member of our extended Unbridled family, Lisa Campbell Bailey’s, husband, David, passed away from dementia. David was a man of excellence. He provided his intelligence expertise in Washington to the George H. W. Bush and Clinton administrations. After moving from Washington, he found a love for supporting students as an Academic Advisor, helping them graduate and plan their careers. Ultimately, though, David’s love for words won out. He found a home in the Longmont art community, devoting time to his passion for poetry, collaborating with fellow artists, and bringing joy to others through his craft. In 2016, David found himself struggling to word-find and remember things. By 2020, he was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Aphasia, a variant of FTD which is the most common form of dementia in those under the age of 60. In the end, David was unable to read, write or speak, though those close to him knew the love he had for them. David is survived by his wife, Lisa, and many friends and adopted family.
Our hearts are with Lisa Bailey as she navigates grief and celebrates David’s life. To support Lisa in her efforts to support dementia research, we have set up a dollar-for-dollar match (up to $2,500) where 100% of donations will go to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration. The hope is to honor David’s memory by helping experts in the important work of finding a cure for dementia.
If you would like to share a fond memory or loving words for David & Lisa, please fill out the “notes” section of your donation form at check out. These notes will be shared with Lisa.

On September 26, 2024, Hurricane Helene made landfall as a Category 4 storm, impacting the southern Appalachians. Widespread and unprecedented flooding occurred causing hundreds of fatalities and even more displacements. Helene is now the deadliest hurricane to make landfall since Katrina in ’05, causing billions in property damage, blowing down trees and power lines from the Gulf Coast to North Carolina. Asheville, NC is just one community devastated by the storm. There are still hundreds without water and power in the area.
Rebuilding after the devastation from Hurricane Helene and the subsequent thunderstorms it created will be an uphill battle. We have set up this dollar-for-dollar match (up to $5,000) where 100% of donations will go to BeLoved Asheville to directly support those on the frontlines providing relief resources to those most affected. As FCA continues to service local art forms, they are pursuing a new location that will allow for sustainability and growth of their programs. To see Cañon City continue to expand, it is imperative to engage in and cultivate a community that values the arts.
